15th Landscape Forum in Guimarães

The future of the landscape is under discussion in Guimarães this week through the 15th edition of the Landscape Forum. This international gathering, focused on landscape architecture, spatial planning and sustainability, is taking place in the birthplace city from Thursday to Saturday.

As part of the official programme for Guimarães 26 – European Green Capital, the event brings together students, researchers and professionals in the birthplace city to exchange viewpoints, knowledge and projects concerning the future of the landscape.

Its programme combines opportunities for reflection, collaborative work, field visits and discussion on the democratic transformation of the landscape. These include conferences, themed working groups, routes through the area, public presentations of the outcomes developed during the gathering, and two events open to the public.

Mizu and the public art exhibition

One of the programme’s highlights is the performance Mizu, which will be staged this afternoon at 16:30 in Guimarães City Park.

The show offers a sensory experience in which dance and puppetry meet in a poetic exploration of transformation. It is also included in the Spring Forward programme, the contemporary dance festival likewise being held in Guimarães from today until Saturday.

Another featured moment in the 15th Landscape Forum programme is an art exhibition at IDEGUI – Guimarães Design Institute, which will remain on display for the duration of the forum. Its public opening is scheduled for Thursday at 18:30.

The Landscape Forum is organised through a partnership between the Landscape Laboratory, the LE:NOTRE Institute, Commonspace and Kultúraktív Egysulet.
